Secil Guven was born in the northwest of Turkey in 1994.She undertook a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at Marmara University in Istanbul in 2016. During her time there, she worked in the studio where she had the opportunity to work with traditional fine art mediums such as iron, steel, copper, wood, and glass. The works that came forth from working with these mediums were often supported with contemporary concepts. This experience was the first step of her artistic search. After four years of formal study, she moved to Amsterdam in 2016 where she embraced the idea of working with oils as “a perfect form of self-expression” she says.“Nature is honest and it is the wellspring of my works in which I depict one’s complex state of mind through the purest and simplest way possible.I provoke watchers to find communion with the subject matter of my works.
