In my works I am inspired by nature. I use trees, waterfalls, volcanos and stones to find the forms I need. Also I look at prehistoric art.
When I started working after nature I first only looked at trees and tree roots. An example of this is my dancer series. After working and re working on the trees I discovered that stones and mountains also had different stories to tell and bit by bit I started exploring the different elements which nature has to offer.
Thematically my works are often auto biographical or refer to events in the world around us. Relationships in all kinds, conflicts and confrontations. Sometimes I take inspiration from various world literature like Shakespeare and Greek mythology.
The most important for me in my works is to tell a story and to show different sides of human nature. To show society. In the literature you see a reflection on society, where different emotions like jealousy, despair, ingratitude, love come forward.
Furthermore I like making satirical paintings but also here I give a comment on a situation in (my) life. Here I show a tragi comical side of relationships.
In my work I am telling stories and would like to share those stories with the people.
